How to Choose the Right Sabit for Your Palm Trees
Choosing the right sabit comes down to matching the tool to your trees and how you work.
Blade length matters most for taller palms — a longer blade combined with a pole holder gives you more reach without needing a ladder. For shorter or younger palms, a shorter blade is easier to control and reduces fatigue over a full day of harvesting.
Weight is the next factor. A lighter blade is easier to swing repeatedly, but a heavier blade carries more force through each cut, which can mean fewer strokes per frond. Most harvesters find a balance that suits their own technique after trying a couple of options.
Finally, check the cutting angle adjustment if the tool offers one. Being able to adjust the angle lets you match the blade to the tree's height and lean without changing your stance.
